Those are just some of the off-beat messages you'll find posted on variable messages boards in Princeton. TAPInto Princeton has a look at the man behind the quirky messages in this story, What Would Einstein Say About Princeton Crosswalks? 'Yield to Pedestrians.'

The non-traditional messages are meant to catch attention of drivers rather than a more conventional message that might simply be ignored if a driver passes it. There were an average of 59 vehicle collisions reported in Princeton each month, that's about two a day, according to TAPInto.

The Princeton Police Department, in partnership with the Greater Mercer Transportation Mangement Association (TMA), will be the latest tmunicipality to launch a Be Street Smart NJ campaign focused on the five most crash-prone intersections this fall. It's an opportune time because every year October is Pedestrian Safety Month.
